The engineers at Injen have a vast amount of experience designing cold air intake systems. They know from experience on the dyno how much more horsepower and torque an engine can make with a cooler air inlet charge. So it was only natural for them to develop an intercooler system to cool the intake air on a turbocharged engine.

Compressing intake air by a turbocharger raises the air temperature, resulting in a hot air intake charge with less oxygen, partially negating the benefits of forcing more air into the combustion chambers. To counteract this effect, most manufacturers equip their turbocharged vehicles with air-to-air intercoolers. The intercooler acts like a radiator, with outside air flowing through the cooling fins and absorbing the heat from the intake air flowing through the core. However, many OEM coolers are small and not mounted in the most ideal location, because of styling, space or other considerations, so there’s room for improvement.

To ensure a significant air intake temperature drop, Injen developed this front-mount intercooler kit. The larger volume of the Injen intercooler, coupled with the increased cooling available at the front of the vehicle, results in greater heat transfer, which in turn significantly reduces intake air temperature. This reduced temperature results in an increase of as much as 15 horsepower at the wheels. That’s power you can feel in the seat of your pants!

The Injen intercooler kit includes the intercooler, pipes, hoses, clamps, coolant bottle, bumper support and everything required for installation.
